Liam at The Nutcracker

Getting into the holiday spirit, my mom and I took the twins to The Nutcracker today. Eirin loved it! The dancing the costumes.... Liam was thrown off when he realized it was just music, "Mom, they're not talking. Why aren't they talking?" He sat through it ok, but finally asked, "How 'bout I go on the stage and dance?"javascript:void(0);

On the subject of brothers....

Liam: Mama, where are my brothers?
Me: Liam, you don't have brothers, only a sister.
Liam: I want my brothers, are my brothers not born yet?

Technically, I guess he's right. The young mind is a wonderful thing.

A request for Christmas

Liam: "I want a talking dog for Christmas."
Liz: "A talking dog? We have Shiro though, he's our dog."
Liam: "I want a talking dog like Martha....'bout we give Shiro some alphabet soup?'

Conversation on marriage.

E: Mama, when you gonna get married?
Me: I'm already married.
L: Noooooo!! I go to your wedding.
Me: I'm married to Daddy!
L: Why?
Me: Because Mama loves Daddy and Daddy loves Mama, so we got married.
L: I don't want you be married to Daddy.
Me: Why not?
L: I want you marry a Prince!
E: Me wear a beautiful wedding dress to your wedding. Where's your wedding dress?
L: Prince, prince, prince!
E: I love buddy, I will marry Liam.

"We'll eat you up—we love you so!”

These costumes have been tucked away in my closet for a year, I scooped them up on sale last Halloween. I was psyched that Liam and Eirin were excited to wear them. "Where the Wild Things Are" is one of their favorites, so I thought they'd be perfect for the twins. Eirin was Max and Liam was Moishe the monster.
Eirin delighted in yelling: "Be still!" and Liam roared his terrible roar and then assured people, "it's just me!"

“And now,” cried Max, “let the wild rumpus start!”

E: "Buddy, will you marry me?"
L: "No, thank you!"
E: "Please? Sweetie, you're my best fried."

Overheard on our ride home

E: When I grow up, I'm gonna be a Mama.
L: When I grow up, I'm gonna be a big kid!
