Clear Day

The weather finally cleared up on Sunday (our last day in Alaska) so we decided to drive to Telkeetna. The second picture is of Pioneer Peak taken from the cottage down the road from Nancy & John's house.

Alyeska

Despite the fact that it snowed non-stop, David got two full days of skiing in. The resort is set in a spectacular valley; we had lovely views of the mountains from our room. What an amazing location!

Jack and Henry

We finally met the twins! Jack and Henry are so adorable. They are such sweet babies; they smile a lot and play with their countless toys in their pen. Their preference though is to be out of the pen, having access to some of Joe’s toys and crawling all over the place. They'll definitely be walking and talking up a storm soon.

Peek-A-Boo

Here's a short video of Jack and Henry playing peek-a-boo.

An afternoon with Joe

Nancy and John took the twins to the doctor for their one-year physicals so we babysat for Joe and kept him entertained. We played with a Thomas computer game, play-doh and finger paints, we read books, we put a fire truck puzzle together, and Liz blew lots and lots of bubbles for Joe to pop.

Joe and the Toboggan

We had a lot of fun in Alaska visiting Joe, Jack & Henry, Nancy and John. Here are a few pics and a couple of short videos. The first video is of David and Joe sledding. The second one is David pulling Joe on the toboggan in the yard.

Joe just loves the toboggan.

False Positive

I tried to post some pictures from Alaska but when I logged on I discovered that Blogger's anti-splog robots had identified our blog as a spam blog and disabled it. It was under review and down for a few days but it has finally been reviewed, verified, and given the all clear. Yippee!

Lunch at Toad River

I'm currently in Alaska and just finished reading this. It was a very quick read; a cute story about a family with 8 kids moving across the country from Falmouth, Massachusetts to Fairbanks, Alaska. They eventually settle in Juneau, Alaska.

Disturbing

This is just the most disturbing video! Two toddlers smoking marijuana, it doesn't appear to be the first time they've been exposed to it either. I can't believe that the mother and grandmother excuse the teenagers for exposing the 2 and 5 year old children to drugs. Yes, 2 & 5 years old! It is just mind-boggling and so horrible it makes me sick; I hope these babies are not returned to a home where their mother obviously did not care for them enough to prevent her teenage brother from teaching and encouraging her babies to smoke pot!
